      I was really looking forward to more of his chapter-by-chapter posts on A Storm of Swords. I was hoping the reason he wouldn’t get ahead of the published chapters was that the remaining books would be published, but I hadn’t expected this. He had talked about losing a leg a while back, but there was no indication this was on the horizon.

        But you know he’s written so much on ASOIAF already, he didn’t owe us anything more as far as I’m concerned.

        It troubles me to think that he worked on his last posts while struggling with pain, and I hope the burden of expectations didn’t add to stress in his final days.
