“Video” Podcast of Game of Thrones, Season 1, Episode 10, “Fire and Blood”

As promised, we are back for a second podcast in as many days, which you can listen to here.

This completes our run of Season 1 reviews/recaps. Starting tomorrow, we will be starting our run of Season 2 recaps, although we will not be putting them out once a day like we’ve been doing – rather, we’re going to have an honest-to-the-old-gods-and-the-new regular release schedule. Podcast episodes will go up Tuesday evenings (as we noticed a large number of people putting off listening/commenting until they got home from work), every week from now until Season 5 begins in mid-April.

  1. Sean C. says:

The scene with Pycelle almost feels like a parody of the other “sexposition” scenes, with Ros sitting around looking bored while Pycelle refuses to say anything relevant or interesting. In any event, I believe they’d said this was invented more or less because Julian Glover wanted to do something with the character and they had some spare time (in marked contrast to later seasons). It’s not really surprising, then, that it never went anywhere — though the moment in season 3 where he pretends to be feeble to make Tyrion stoop was amusingly petty.

You inadvertently called the undercutting of Asha/Yara through inept execution.

One thing Steve…ten episodes in Season 2 and if the plan is podcasts every Tuesday you won’t be done with them by the premiere of Season Five.

Maybe saving whats left for that annoying break between s5ep6 & 7!
      Well hopefully.

I think he’d be busy enough with the Blacks and the Reds and (fingers crossed) churning out those chapter analyses as quickly as possible. Especially since, he might have more material for the “What if?” sections and foreshadowing pieces based on what happens next in the series. (Whether we learn about it from the show or TWOW.)

Great as always & happy you guys are back!!!
As a non bookie reader at the time(never even copped it was a book series, even though i watched each credit opener intently)I thought dany was toast(and gone mad at the loss of her husband)when she walked into the pyre.i remember saying out loud to my friend “holy shit!!! she f*%king hatched them”just as she stood up.Both ep9 & 10 truly sold me on the show & cause myself and at least 3 other people i know to read the novels, which just so happens to be the most fun read since TLOTR in 2000.
